Requirements

Minimum Age Please note in Australia the minimum age to learn to dive is 12 years old.

Medicals When first learning to dive (Open Water) Australian law requires a full Australian Standards Dive Medical (AS4005.1) prior to commencement of the course. This differs from most countries overseas, where a different medical is used. A copy of this form is available here in PDF format. We only require the signed (by your doctor) Statement of Health (Page 5) to be returned. Medicals must not be completed any more than 90 days prior to the start of the course and must be in English.
Medicals can also be arranged in Port Douglas most week days (by appointment) with a local Dive Doctor. Currently there is an $88 fee.

The choice is yours - select from our personalised four day private programme (theory, pool, and two days of ocean dives), or complete your theory study on-line before you arrive and complete your course in just 2½ days on the Outer Great Barrier Reef.

We also accept referals from other dive centres and also other agencies including BSAC, CMAS, SSI, SDI and NAUI and you can finish your diver training with us.

Finally, short on time - you can complete a PADI Scuba Diver course in just 2 days, this allows you to dive, but under the supervision of a dive guide or instructor - it can be upgraded to full openwater in just 2 days at a later date.
